*CERTIFIED EMDR TRAUMA THERAPIST
Supporting Youniqueness
Younique Counseling LLC provides psychotherapy, counseling, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy to adults, seniors, teenagers, and young adults through online sessions. Navigating life circumstances, exploring our identities, and managing expectations can be overwhelming–even more so when we feel like we are dealing with it alone. Sometimes the weight of self-doubt and worry keeps us from staying connected to the present moment, leaving us searching for genuine connection and purpose. I am here to support you as we sift through beliefs, patterns, and habits to help you reconnect with the most genuine embodiment of YOU.
Many therapists assert that they can work with trauma but may not have specific training or skills in this area. In contrast, I specialize in sexual trauma and intimate partner violence, providing counseling to survivors of complex trauma. In addition, I engage in ongoing specialist trauma training and know how to treat trauma safely and effectively without requiring you to re-live past traumatic events. This reduces the risk of you being re-traumatized by your therapy experience.
Counseling is a sacred relationship between two fellow travelers that can help draw these qualities back to the forefront of our lives. To invite these qualities into our relationship, I take a curious, compassionate and collaborative approach.
I offer counseling through the viewpoint that trauma, inequalities, gender and sexuality, and everything around us impact us. This perspective empowers me best to serve individuals, families, and those in relationships. I encourage all people to live their truth and believe that all individuals deserve respect and the ability to use their voices.
When I am not working, I enjoy practicing mindfulness, reading, spending time on any body of water, traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.

Studies suggest that trauma could make you more vulnerable to developing physical health problems, including long-term or chronic illnesses. These emotions might be because trauma can affect your body and mind, which can have a long-term impact on your physical health. You may be asking yourself, Could my own traumatic experiences cause a sense of self traits like incompetence, inferiority, degradation, depersonalization, or identity diffusion? ABSOLUTELY, YES!
Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, and diminishes your sense of self and ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. It does not discriminate, and it is pervasive throughout the world.
