ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
What’s therapy with me like? I provide therapy that blends honest feedback with genuine warmth. You’ll always know where you stand: I identify patterns as they emerge and invite you to explore them at your own pace. My work draws on a strength-based perspective, evidence-based practices, principles of behavior modification, and years of professional experience with children and their families.
Together, we set client-centered goals to guide the process. I listen deeply, challenge thoughtfully, and help translate insight into concrete steps and skills. Expect a space that is grounded and welcoming—supportive enough to foster healing, yet direct enough to spark real change.
Who do I work with? I provide therapy for children ages 7–15 and their families, typically working closely with a parent or guardian. My approach blends honest feedback with genuine warmth—you’ll always know where you stand. I identify patterns as they emerge and invite you and your child to explore them at a pace that feels manageable.
My impacting identities are…I am a 53-year-old cisgender woman, mother of one, aunt to six, and great-aunt to ten.
I feel allied/aware/part of/informed/knowledgeable about… I am knowledgeable about parenting and co-parenting dynamics and experienced in supporting families through these challenges. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, remaining attentive, aware, and affirming of diverse identities and experiences. I am an ally and experienced practitioner in working with survivors of sexual trauma, and I am well-informed about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the Protective Factors that foster resilience.
I am best fit for I work really well with kids who struggle with symptoms of ADHD, ADD, ODD, and anxiety - acting out at school, not following directions at home, disorganized, low self-esteem, etc. As a therapist, I can provide your child with the skills to be successful and expect parents/caregivers to support the child in implementing them between sessions.
I am not a good fit for Successful therapy is a collaborative process. It works best when parents and caregivers take an active role—participating in family sessions and helping their child practice new skills at home. If you’re hoping for a quick fix without that shared commitment, my approach may not be the best match.
What makes me unique? I have worked with children and families for more than 25 years across a wide range of roles and settings. My background spans prevention, intervention, and treatment, providing insights and practical knowledge every bit as valuable as my formal education. Over the years I’ve partnered with families from around the world and deeply respect the importance of family traditions and cultural heritage in shaping each child’s experience.
Did You know... I've been lucky to work with families from all over the world in a variety of different prevention programs, primarily families with young children. When I became a parent at 35 years old, I had already been working with families for 12 years! The first thing I noticed was how much wonderful support there was for families with children under 5 years old, but once they hit elementary school....it's crickets! Families need support throughout their parenting journey, but there's very little available. Our kids today face so much adversity and as parents, it can be challenging to know how to support them. I feel blessed to have had so many personal and professional experiences in this field and it undoubtedly lends to my approach as a therapist.
Any Pets? I currently have one dog named Lucky, and three cats - Tuli, Alibi, and Lucas. They are my true fur babies!
My favorite hobbies… I really enjoy painting rocks, kayaking, and going to see live music!
